I have been collecting something (coins, antiques, fossils, relics, really anything) since I was about 10 years old. I started with coins then took a break through university, traveling etc. I rejoined the collecting world 15 years ago after getting married.

I started recollecting after buying an old cinema in Outback Australia. The cinema was located in Blackall, Queensland. I bought the cinema for $5,000 in 1994 and spent around $150,000 restoring it.

I was reactivated as a collector when a large collection of movie posters was found in the Blackall Cinema. Titles dated from the 1950s but there were some real beauties including “Breakfast at Tiffany’s”, “Curse of the Demon” and “Creature with the Atomic Brain” just to name a few. At the time I didn’t know what the posters were worth but to me they were all priceless!! To this day I still believe they are priceless but have a better understanding of value. “How can you sell if you love the movie posters/ARTWORK soooo much:-)” If you are interested in movie posters visit my other website

The Blackall Cinema was built from an American World War 2 aircraft hanger and re-established as a cinema in 1956. The Blackall Cinema replaced an open air cinema which was established around the turn of the19th century.

My cinema re-opened on May 15th 1994.

The restoration included a 1 bedroom flat with living room, kitchen and large bathroom, big enough to include a spa bath After a year of operation we won a tender to establish a government funded Internet café. To round off the mix we created an ice creamery.
